I attended the 40th birthday of this crazy, futuristic – but falling apart – sculpture in DTLA last week, and it was great fun. I really think they have a shot at bringing it back to life and light….

My recent article for the LA Weekly is about the Institute of Art & Olfaction in Chinatown, a place where you can experiment with – and learn about – smells good and bad, and everything in between.

Recently, in association with GHOULA, they ran a great event called Phantosmia, which sent you on a scavenger hunt across LA with vials of smell, all of which related to the death of a Hollywood celebrity.

Some of the smells were lovely – perfume or flowers – but some were much less pleasant…
